He would evade me, even though he created the mess. It was unfair. He deserved to be chained. And so, I found him. Years of us being apart, culminating in this moment. We stood in the darkness of the room. He had undressed. This was a test. He asked me to grab him, to see if my touch felt right. I did. And as I did, I could not help but yell, "You are mine!" He had multiple realizations in that instant, one of which being that my words rang clear and true, he was mine. The coyotes howled in the dry autumn air as I claimed him.
