It was Sunday evening. Vilja had managed not to think of the twin situation for a day and a half! That was quite the achievement, considering her usual obsessive disposition. It seems the confusion of it was enough to tire her mind. She took note of this, "Get into an impossible situation and your mind will shut up for a day." Too bad impossible situations like these were hard to come by. She had taken full advantage of the mental silence and had a restful weekend. She had taken naps, cozied up on the couch to watch some mindless comedy, cooked herself some nice meals, amusedly watched the magpie pick at her apple tree (which would have normally annoyed her but she couldn't bring herself to feel any negative emotions), barely looked at her phone. She hadn't even turned on her computer. Until now. The computer fans whirred, the LED lights in the case faded on and shifted calmly from bright royal blue to teal and back again. She sat down at the desk. She wasn't going to message Ville, not yet. She was going cyber shopping for a red reading light that could clip onto books. Recently, she had bought a fascinating book about Artificial Intelligence, but she found she often wanted to read it at night and the lamp in her bedroom was too bright. She navigated to Conga, the world's leading online global retailer, and typed in her query. She wondered if, wherever he was, Ville was doing something similar. They had such a link. She didn't agree with Conga's most recommended product suggestion, so she began scrolling down through thousands of results. The effect of the pictures traveling up the screen was hypnotic. She zoned out and, in this momentary lapse of concentration, memories of her recurring dreams where she was a man instead of a woman threatened to surface. "No," she thought, squeezing her eyes shut and gently shaking her head, forcing herself to refocus on the task at hand. Oh, this light could take traditional batteries as well as rechargeable batteries... --- It was Sunday evening. Ville had managed not to think of the twin situation for a day and a half!
